The Goodyear Eagle Sport summer tire was initially offered only on the South American market. Sales proved to be so successful that this model became available in many other countries, including Europe and Russia. The tire features characteristic features of the entire "Eagle" line, demonstrating a sporty-tuned handling and good traction at high speed.
Increased contact patch
Compared to the previous model, this tire has a longer service life. This and the improvement of other operational properties are largely due to the increased size of the contact patch. Its area has become larger due to several design features. One of them is the optimized profile shape of the tread, which also gave the contact patch a shape close to rectangular. Its area is increased by numerous blocks, most of which have massive sizes. All this provides the tire with excellent traction on dry roads, as well as uniform load distribution, which significantly improves handling, making its behavior in complex situations reliable and predictable.
Wide shoulder zones
A significant part of the tread is occupied by shoulder zones. They contain wide transverse blocks that perform several functions. First of all, it is ensuring maximum stability when maneuvering and braking. The blocks have lamellas that, on the one hand, improve traction on wet roads, and on the other hand, increase the resistance of the tread to uneven wear.
