Compared to other representatives of the SP Sport line, it is distinguished by increased efficiency on wet pavement, where it demonstrates stability of coupling properties and impeccable handling accuracy. The developers managed to maintain good levels of acoustic comfort, fuel efficiency, and wear resistance.
The tire is created based on a two-layer carcass, where a cord made of nylon fibers and the Jointless Band Construction technology are used. This prevents deformation under the influence of centrifugal forces and maintains uniform contact with the road at high speeds, increasing directional stability and handling, as well as promoting even tread wear. Additional reinforcement in the shoulder block area increases resistance to overheating and mechanical loads characteristic of dynamic driving.
The tread is made in an aggressive asymmetric design with a wide longitudinal wave-shaped rib in the middle. This element, due to its rigidity, increases stability when driving in a straight line and provides a clear response to steering actions, and in turns — interacts with massive shoulder blocks, providing sporty handling and reliable coupling. All these properties are largely preserved on wet pavement due to the developed system of multidirectional grooves of increased width and numerous lamellas that cover the entire tread.
However, the most significant improvement in coupling properties was achieved through the use of a modern rubber compound created on the basis of micro-dispersed particles of silicon dioxide and synthetic rubbers of the new generation. This combination increases elasticity at low temperatures, while providing high resistance to wear in the heat. Thanks to this, the tire demonstrates stable behavior in a wide range of weather conditions and is distinguished by a long service life.
