DescriptionDescription Contyre Arctic Ice III
The winter studded tire Contyre Arctic Ice III is one of the novelties from the domestic manufacturer, designed primarily for compact city cars. This model features a modern design, providing a high level of safety when driving on any winter surfaces. The size range of this tire, although not diverse, is selected to provide maximum applicability.
High braking efficiency
Due to the fact that the manufacturer chose to use a V-shaped symmetrical directional tread pattern, the Contyre Arctic Ice III has excellent traction properties in the longitudinal direction. This is largely due to the countless number of sharp edges formed by S-shaped lamellas that cover the entire tread.
In addition, the shoulder areas of the tread feature quadrangular blocks. Due to their perpendicular arrangement and high stiffness, the tire demonstrates effective braking, especially on slippery roads.
Excellent ice grip
Among the strengths of this model, it is also worth noting the excellent ice grip. Partly this is due to the above-mentioned lamellas, but the majority of the traction properties on such a surface are provided by the multitude of studs that form several tracks. Thanks to the special structure of the technological holes, the studs are reliably retained in the tread throughout the entire lifespan of the tire.
Optimal elasticity over a wide temperature range
As you know, about 70% of the tire's traction properties depend on the characteristics of the rubber compound. For winter tires, this figure is even higher, since, in addition to many factors, there is another one - the effect of low temperatures, from which any rubber loses a significant part of its elasticity. In the Arctic Ice III tire, this problem is solved due to the addition of silicon-containing polymers, i.e., "silica", to the rubber compound. In addition to elasticity at low temperatures, this component significantly improves grip on wet roads and resistance to abrasive wear.
Stable behavior at high speed
One of the advantages of Contyre Arctic Ice III is its excellent directional stability at any speed. This ability appeared when a longitudinal rib appeared in the central part of the tread. Despite the fact that it consists of many arrow-shaped blocks, its stiffness is at a very high level, thanks to the bridges that turned the rib into a single element.
Excellent handling in snowy slush
When developing this model, special attention was paid to the effectiveness of the drainage system when driving on various types of surfaces. That's why the tire got a very developed system of channels that stretch along the entire tread in different directions. In combination with their large size, this gave the tread the ability to quickly get rid of not only water but also more heavy snow masses. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent resistance to both aquaplaning and slushplaning, ensuring high safety even in the most unfavorable weather conditions.
Key features of the Contyre Arctic Ice III tire
- original V-shaped directional tread pattern with a rigid central rib provides stable and reliable behavior on any winter surface;
- excellent braking properties on snow, thanks to more than 5,000 wave-like lamellas covering the entire tread;
- excellent resistance not only to aquaplaning but also to slushplaning, which ensures a high level of safety even in the most unfavorable weather conditions;
- high level of comfort is provided by the minimal level of resonant noise and vibrations;
- rubber compound with a high silica content, thanks to which the tread of the tire has excellent elasticity even at very low temperatures, as well as good grip on wet roads and resistance to abrasive wear.

Poor traction on ice and loose snow, tires start to crack all around the tread area after the first winter at the recommended pressure, annoying since I only drove on snow rarely. Most cautious driving on ice and snow to 60 km/h, on a turn on ice max 40 km/h; any faster and there's no guarantee of a safe stop. Also, they don't gain speed well out of deep grooves at low speeds, making it difficult to get out of my driveway for example.

Great tire! The perfect combination of price and quality. I actually think it's better than the KAMAZ tires. It slid through all the snowdrifts this winter, even with the rear-wheel drive on the classic! It holds the road well in the snowy mush and on ice. The wear is minimal, and all the studs are still in place.
