Bridgestone Ecopia EP850 SUV

The Bridgestone Ecopia EP850 SUV summer tire is designed for SUVs and crossovers that are primarily used on paved roads. In the model lineup, it replaced the Dueler D683, which it surpasses in fuel efficiency, ride comfort, acoustic comfort, braking efficiency, and handling.

Smooth and Comfortable Ride

The tire's tread features an asymmetrical design with several functional zones. One of them is formed by two longitudinal ribs in the central part, which contain numerous lamellas and grooves. Their configuration and arrangement are chosen using computer modeling to give the tire a soft and acoustically comfortable ride. These properties are further enhanced by the use of lamellas and grooves of varying lengths, which, alternating with each other, prevent the occurrence of resonant noises and vibrations.

Interlocking Blocks

Also in the central part, there are numerous longitudinal blocks separated by narrow slits inclined at a significant angle. This solution provides the blocks with a certain mobility, optimizing the distribution of external load on the contact patch and reducing rolling resistance. This solution, on the one hand, increases the stability of the traction properties and resistance to uneven wear, and on the other hand, improves fuel efficiency, reduces heat generation when driving at high speeds.

Acute-Angled Blocks

The longitudinal rib located closer to the outer side of the tread contains numerous blocks of an acute-angled shape. This solution significantly optimizes the distribution of external load on the contact patch during longitudinal accelerations. This gives the traction properties additional stability, increasing the effectiveness of the tread during acceleration and braking.

Optimized Tread Profile

In the side projection, the tire's tread has a variable curvature. In the central part, it is practically flat, and in the shoulder zones, it is significantly rounded. This solution increases the width of the contact patch, thereby strengthening the grip, and also reduces the degree of abrasive impact on the tread, preventing wear during maneuvers and longitudinal accelerations.
