The industrial tyre Nokian Logger King is designed for skidder tractors and feller bunchers used in the forestry industry. It is intended for use in the most demanding conditions, where equipment moves daily through marshy areas, deep ruts, and logging sites with a large number of stumps and wood residue. The design is focused on high traction, puncture resistance, and maintaining functionality, both when used independently and in conjunction with forestry chains or crawler tracks.

Maximum traction on forest soils

The tread is composed of tapered blocks with elongated curved walls, featuring a characteristic "spoon-like" shape for such tyres. This solution forms continuous working edges, allowing for more effective implementation of traction force on wet soil, forest litter, and areas with a large amount of logging residue. The significant volume of cavities between the blocks promotes intense self-cleaning of the tread, thanks to which its grip properties are preserved even when working on viscous soils. The special tread profile increases the contact patch area, reducing the specific pressure on the ground and increasing the machine's stability during wood transportation.

Reinforced design for forestry equipment

The basis is a multi-layer diagonal carcass, reinforced with wide steel breaker belts that cover almost the entire tread and shoulder areas. On top is an increased layer of wear-resistant CCR compound, effectively resisting cuts, punctures, and cracking when in contact with stumps, branches, and sharp stones. In some versions, the design is further reinforced with additional layers of cord and steel, allowing for increased load capacity and improved resistance to damage.

Adaptation to work with forestry chains

The shoulder areas have an increased height of the groove base and reinforced support for elements of forestry crawler tracks and chains. This solution reduces local loads on the carcass and prevents damage to the tread during prolonged operation with additional means of increasing passability. The special rubber compound in the bead area reduces the likelihood of the tyre spinning on the rim when transmitting high torque.
