The Bridgestone Battlax BT-023 Sport Touring motorcycle tire is designed for heavy touring bikes with engines over 1000cc. As one of the flagship models in the Battlax line, it features almost all of Bridgestone's technological advancements in motorcycle tires.
New Rubber Compound
One of the key innovations is the tread's rubber compound, created using Nano-Pro-Tech technology. This ensures uniform carbon distribution, reducing heat generation. Additionally, the compound includes new-generation polymer compounds and silicon-containing components. This makes the tread more resistant to adverse temperature and abrasive effects, significantly increasing its lifespan. The higher silica content also provides improved traction on wet asphalt.
HTSPC and MS-BELT
These two technological solutions relate to the tire's cord design. It is wound using a single rubber cord with five steel strands inside. The absence of seams, joints, and duplicate layers, combined with a rubber sheath, reduces the tire's weight, improves elasticity, and decreases heat generation, resulting in a longer tire life.
3 Layer Compound
This term translates to "three-layer rubber compound." In practice, it means the tread consists of three longitudinal strips with different rubber compound compositions. The central part of the tread is made from a harder rubber compound, ensuring stable behavior when driving straight. The shoulder areas of the tread contain a softer rubber compound, improving traction when cornering.
Key Features of the Bridgestone Battlax BT023 Motorcycle Tire
- The tire is designed for heavy sport-touring motorcycles with engines over 1 liter;
- The "monospiral" metal cord, wound from a single rubber cord with five steel strands inside, reduces the tire's weight, improves its elasticity and strength, and significantly decreases heat generation;
- The central part of the tread is made from a hard rubber compound, while the shoulder areas are made from a softer compound, allowing the tire to demonstrate excellent efficiency regardless of the driving mode;
- The rubber compound, created using Nano-Pro-Tech technology with increased silica and new-generation polymer content, provides high resistance to high-temperature effects and abrasive wear, as well as improved traction on wet surfaces.
