Like most other models, the Kapsen HS101 truck tire has a fairly narrow range of applications, being designed for use on the steering axle of highway tractors. That's why this model is characterized by a short braking distance on a wet road, excellent directional stability, low rolling resistance, and a very long service life.
5-rib tread pattern design
Unlike similar trailer tires, this model features a tread pattern with a reduced number of longitudinal ribs. There are only five of them, which, with the increased tread width, made it possible to make them very massive and, accordingly, quite rigid. The practical result of this design feature is a significant reduction in rolling resistance, as well as an increase in directional stability, especially when driving at high speeds.
Short braking distance on a wet road
As mentioned earlier, this model is characterized by high efficiency when braking. It is achieved due to the design features of the longitudinal tread ribs located in the central part. They contain a large number of lamellas, which, when in contact with the road surface, open up and form a multitude of transverse edges of adhesion. At the same time, it should be noted that they are cut through the entire depth of the tread. This feature provides high braking efficiency on a wet road throughout the life of the tire.
Optimized distribution of external pressure on the contact patch
Unlike the longitudinal ribs located in the central part of the tread, its shoulder zones do not have any composite elements, while having more massive dimensions. This design provides the tire with a number of important advantages. Most of them are a direct consequence of the optimization of the distribution of external pressure on the contact patch, which, thanks to this, has significantly increased in size, taking on a practically rectangular shape. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent load capacity, high resistance to uneven wear, good traction, and handling on dry roads.
Excellent traction on a wet road
When developing this model, the Chinese tire makers paid special attention to ensuring the most reliable traction on a wet road. To do this, not only was the composition of the rubber compound optimized, but also the performance of the drainage system was improved. It consists of four longitudinal grooves, which, thanks to the increased depth of the tread pattern, have a significant internal volume. This allows the drainage system to handle the removal of almost any amount of water from the contact patch, thereby preventing the occurrence of aquaplaning even when driving at very high speeds.
Key features of the Kapsen HS101 tire
- excellent directional stability, low rolling resistance, achieved due to five very rigid longitudinal tread ribs;
- shortened braking distance, especially on a wet road, thanks to the large number of transverse edges of adhesion formed by the numerous lamellas of the tread ribs located in the central part;
- increased load capacity, high resistance to uneven wear, excellent traction, and handling on dry roads are ensured by the optimized distribution of external pressure on the contact patch;
- excellent resistance to aquaplaning, achieved due to the productive drainage system, consisting of 4 longitudinal grooves with a large internal volume.
