Winter tire Toyo Observe Ice-Freezer is suitable for most modern passenger cars of small and medium class. It is offered in several dozen sizes for wheels with a diameter of 14 to 19 inches. It has improved coupling properties on ice and deep snow compared to previous models.
The tread pattern is made in a symmetrical directional design. Its central part is formed by large arrow-shaped blocks rigidly connected to each other. This solution improves course stability and coupling both in the longitudinal and transverse directions.
The shoulder areas contain numerous 3D-lamellas. They are distinguished by a special shape of the walls, which provides opening of these elements at a larger angle than the previous tires. This increases the height of the edges formed by the lamellas, thereby improving coupling when accelerating and braking on ice. Also worth noting is the arrangement of shoulder blocks opposite the elements in the central part. This solution allowed distributing the studs over the tread more evenly and increasing the number of rows formed by them to 28.
The Ice Force stud is used in this tire. It is distinguished by an increased flange size and a smaller body size. Such a design provides more reliable fixation of the stud in the tread. Another important feature is the pentagonal shape of the hard alloy insert, which forms many more coupling edges due to this.
